About

Like most photographers, Ilse Valkoog rather stands behind the camera than in front of it. Probably the reason she became a photographer in the first place. However, taking the photography business to the next level, there is no escaping the spotlights.

To satisfy the curious minds who want to know a little more, this page sheds some light on the "when, why and how" of the images, the website and the photographer behind it.

the Photographer

Ilse Valkoog is a dutch photographer with a professional background in ICT. Her native soil and the travel devotion of her parents greatly influenced her later work.

At an early age she showed an interest in graphic design, mostly expressed in drawings and paintings. In her early twenties, Ilse took up photography. After having followed several photography and dark room courses, she specialized in landscape photography. From then on, not only did she enjoy traveling to experience different countries and customs, but also to capture and share them with the world.

While still practising photography as a leisure time activity, Ilse showed her work in a group exhibition and was asked to capture the dutch St. Nicolas celebration, group portrait, baptism and wedding events. She put her work on display at www.sightforsoreeyes.org in 2001.

Recently she opened this website under her own name, showed her work in a solo exhibition "American Dream" and published a design calendar.

The future holds more photographic work, more travel, a book and ... stay in touch and find out!
