Wadi Rum (or 'Wadi Ramm')
Common fox, striped hyaena, desert hare, ibex, hedgehog, jerboa and gerbils are said to live here, as well as the arabian sand cat, the hyrax, several bird- and snake species and even butterflies. I never saw any, possibly due to the fact that we arrived in great numbers and in broad daylight. What did impress me were the vastness of the landscape and the immense silence.
