Souk Hamidieh
It is the most important souk of Damascus. Interestingly, Damascus is thought to have been the location where many biblical scenes took place. This was where the Garden of Eden was, where Cain killed Abel, Abraham was born, Mary and Joseph found shelter, Mohammed left his footprints, Paul was converted and the head of John the Baptist is still honoured.
