Joshua Tree
I took some great pictures here at 'Keys View', when, as darkness retreated, a dense sheet of clouds covering the sleeping Coachella valley at my feet, took shape. And when the day came to an end, I came back and captured these velvet mountains in the setting sun. Joshua Tree national park encompasses three ecosystems; the Colorado and Mojave Desert, and Little San Bernardino Mountains. At first sight, both image and name of the areas provoke expectations of barren and lifeless land a desert provokes. So it may come as a surprise to learn that Joshua Tree park provides a habitat for 712 higher plant species, 40 reptile species, 41 mammal species and 240 bird species.
