Zabriskie Point

Another image of Zabriskie Point, Death Valley. Contrary to popular belief, Death Valley did not get its name after pioneers traveling to California, losing their way and dying here in the Gold Rush of 1849. In fact, apart from only one elderly man and a couple of oxen, they all made it to California, although with some delay. Resembling a shark fin and backed by the Panamint Mountains, this rock formation must be one of the most renowned images of Death Vallley. The chocolatey brown and seemingly soft slopes are what struck me in this image.
