Travelogue

During my travels, I usually collect three or four personal accounts which I then recount in emails to friends. And since they find them very entertaining, I reckoned you might too. A travelogue is born.

Ireland

My trip to Ireland was one of many 'firsts', my first solo trip by car, in Ireland, driving on the left, in a left hand drive car, and so on. It also immediately moved up to the top of my "memorable trips ever" chart. Not in the least because of the anecdotal trouble getting there, and definitely because of the overwhelming and ongoing experience of liberty and independence.

Of course weeks of travel are hard to capture in a couple of sentences. You won't find my lively conversation with Niamh (or Neve in english) here, that we had at the ferry over the Shannon. Or that walk at Oughtdarra where I found charming company in two elderly Dublin brothers, and their dog. Or how the small potholed roads, the overgrowth and the burned smell of wood reminded me of Jamaica. Nor even my observations and advice regarding that tragic tourist rip off called 'Ailwee Cave'.

On the following pages I recounted my travels, added portfolio images and three wallpapers you can download to your computer. I also included tips on lodging at the last page. If you have additional questions or seek advice, feel free to contact me. While reading the travelogue, please bear in mind that it reflects my personal opinion regarding a particular situation.
